Essential Duties

The Respiratory Account Executive (RAE) is a dynamic outside sales and marketing representative that calls on physician offices, hospitals, and post-acute care providers in a specific territory, seeking patient referrals. RAE focuses on Respiratory Equipment and Supplies including Ventilation, Vests, Oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP and other durable medical equipment, supplies and services prioritized by the VP of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities
  • Execute strategic planning and selling to referral sources, including pre-call planning, understanding each sales call opening, probing, presenting benefits, and closing.
  • Become an expert on core products of Respiratory Equipment and Supplies (e.g., Ventilators, Vests, Oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP, and related equipment).
  • Meet monthly sales goals and quotas to maximize commissions and drive revenue.
  • Identify and evaluate top referral sources (hospitals, home health agencies, physicians) in the territory and call on them to increase patient referrals.
  • Call on a minimum of 8 to 10 referral sources per day, establish relationships, set up in-services, and seek patient referrals.
  • Maintain organization and excellent follow-up skills; demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and listening abilities.
  • Make presentations to physicians, home health agencies, and hospitals regarding core products and services.
  • Handle administrative duties including expense reports, weekly conference calls, emails, monthly sales meetings, billing documentation, and follow-up.
  • Provide organizational excellence through dedication, quality, and outstanding customer service.
  • Understand the durable medical equipment and supply industry, analyze pharmacology products, and apply training on health care trends, regulations, market conditions, and managed care in daily sales calls.
  • Utilize provided DME products, insights, and data to identify priorities, offer solutions to physician clients, allocate resources to meet diverse customer needs, monitor performance, and adjust plans in real time.
  • Demonstrate understanding of disease states, products, and competitor products; communicate complex technical information clearly and continue to expand knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, private practices, medical groups, hospitals, and care teams; foster team effectiveness and shared goals.
  • Drive market share growth and maximize sales performance within indicated use and approved patient populations; understand reimbursement and managed care environments; experience with contracting is a plus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the regional sales manager and adhere to company policies.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited high school; preferred bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or natural science.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare DME (Ventilation, Vests, Oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP) and respiratory supplies; industry sales experience is highly desirable.
  • 3–5 years of sales/marketing experience in home healthcare and/or post-acute care.
  • Understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other insurances; excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, sales, and problem-solving abilities; ability to build constructive working relationships.
  • High level of empathy, patient-focused attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active participation in professional healthcare organizations; ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate leadership; strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to balance priorities in a high-pressure environment and work independently with minimal direction; detail-oriented and results-driven.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs as part of physical requirements.
Physical Effort
  • Lifting and loading of equipment into/off delivery vehicles and patient homes; minimum weight lift requirement is 75 lbs.
