The Strategic Sourcing Specialist Lead manages, executes, and administers complex contracts in support of the engineering organization. This role covers the end-to-end procurement cycle—from solicitation and negotiation through award, execution, and closeout—for a defined engineering commodity. It ensures critical components are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and aligned with engineering, quality, and cost objectives.
What You ll Do- Develop sourcing strategies for a designated engineering commodity, ensuring all components meet strict cost, quality, and engineering standards
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of the procurement cycle, including RFP/RFQ development, proposal evaluation, negotiations, award, administration, and execution
- Monitor and manage supplier performance and supplier production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and prevent program delays
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics to reduce costs and mitigate risks related to transportation of sourced parts
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to align procurement with project milestones and ensure the scalability of future product iterations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in a manufacturing, R&D, or production environment
- Demonstrated experience supporting engineering, R&D programs, or early-stage product development
- Strong negotiation skills with technical, legal and executive stakeholders
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with machined parts, fabricated assemblies, castings, or electromechanical components
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Coupa, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Experience in a startup environment
- Experience working in aerospace, automotive, fusion or energy industries
Pay Range:
$111,200 - $166,800 USD
