Acara Solutions is looking for contract specialists to work with our partner located out in San Leandro, CA who specializes in defense manufacturing.

Here is what you will get:

Pay Rate: $40/hr to $60/hr

Shift: 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off)

Position Summary

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for supporting successful business outcomes by providing contractual, business and mitigation guidance across new and ongoing programs. This role contributes to achieving key business and financial objectives, including orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow. The position requires proficient knowledge of contract management, regulatory compliance, and project execution, with the ability to manage contracts and projects under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Influence positive business outcomes by supporting contractual strategies aligned with financial and operational objectives.
• Provide business, contractual, and risk mitigation guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze new laws, regulations, and contract trends to assess potential impacts on business unit goals and objectives.
• Interpret and apply contractual terms and conditions to protect company interests
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g., DFARS), and other agency regulations.
• Review and analyze complex or unique contract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions for regulatory and policy compliance.
• Manage contractual aspects of solicitations, proposal development, contract changes, and overall contract administration.
• Serve as the primary contractual interface with customers.
• Support contract negotiations and formation strategies to maximize cash flow and achieve business objectives.
• Recommend enhancements to systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the contracts function.

equired Skills /

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
• Proficient knowledge of contracts administration and related business practices
• Working knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
• Ability to analyze and interpret contractual terms, conditions, special provisions, and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting contract review, proposal development, contract change control, and overall contract administration
• Practical knowledge of project management principles
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to explain and interpret processes, practices, and procedures

Preferred Skills /

Qualifications:

• Experience working with FAR supplements, including DFARS, and other agency regulations
  
  Experience serving as a primary contractual interface with customers or external partners
  
  Demonstrated ability to provide contractual, business, and risk mitigation guidance
  
  Experience recommending or implementing process improvements within contracts or business operations
  
  Experience managing projects or processes with responsibility for delegation and review of work
