Laboratory Administrative Assistant

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Administrative Assistant in San Leandro, CA
. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples.

• Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS system
• Review paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness
• Quality control of samples to ensure sample integrity
• Transfer samples based on priority to appropriate custody locations
• Coordinate and perform sample-related activities, including shipping and receiving, processing and administration
• Generate reports, invoices, and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client‑ready report
• Ensure the final report is prepared and that the results are reported to the client in a timely manner
• Assist with internal and external client questions via phone, e‑mail, and in person
• Act as a liaison between clients and laboratory staff
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
• Experience in administration, data entry, and customer service
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele
• Ability to work in a high volume environment
• Ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi‑task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Position is full‑time, Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Candidates living within a commutable distance of San Leandro, CA are encouraged to apply.
