Human Resources Generalist (HR & Payroll)
Jerry Seiner Honda | Full-Time
Pay Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
Job OverviewJerry Seiner Honda in San Juan Capistrano, California is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to support HR and payroll operations across multiple states including California. This role focuses on HR compliance, payroll support, employee relations, benefits, and administrative support in a fast-paced automotive environment.
This is an in-office position with travel required.
Key ResponsibilitiesHR & Compliance
- Support HR compliance and training programs (OSHA / Cal-OSHA)
- Track and document required employee training (safety, harassment prevention)
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, and corrective actions
- Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and 401(k) coordination
- Assist Talent Acquisition with job postings, onboarding, and offboarding
Payroll Support
- Assist with bi-monthly payroll processing for California employees
- Review and audit timecards, PTO, and attendance for accuracy
- Process payroll changes (new hires, pay changes, terminations)
- Support California wage and hour compliance (meal/rest periods)
- Respond to employee payroll questions and escape as needed
Talent & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Provide general administrative and office support
- Assist Talent Acquisition with job postings, onboarding, and offboarding
- Support HR communications, employee events, and internal initiatives
- 1–3 years of HR or HR/Payroll experience
- Knowledge of California labor and payroll laws
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Bachelor's degree in HR, related field or equivalent experience.
