Job Description
The Short-Term Assistant for Extension Programs supports the preparation and successful operation of Summer garet’s, Extended Day, and other out-of-school programming. This position will only be active from March 2, 2026 - August 5, 2026. This position reports to the Director of Extension Programs. Duties include organizing and preparing program materials, maintaining spreadsheets and digital documents, creating visual materials in Canva, and supporting bookkeeping tasks.
Responsibilities also include retrieving, organizing, and labeling supplies; assisting with the setup and breakdown of program spaces; and helping maintain orderly storage areas.
From June 8 through July 31, the Short-Term Assistant will also support daily student-facing operations, including Morning Care, classroom and field supervision, lunch and recess supervision, participating in simple games with students, and assisting with Extended Day as needed. Additional duties include supervision, attendance support, and other responsibilities as assigned in service of Extension Programs.
Positions report to the Director of Experiential Education and Extension Programs. Duties include supervision, attendance, dismissal, teaching or assisting with teaching, and other duties as assigned in support of Extension Programs.
REQUIREMENTS- Strong knowledge of Canva and the ability to create clear, user friendly visual materials.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, including confident use of filters, formatting, data entry, and organization of shared documents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to perform both computer based tasks and physical work such as lifting, moving supplies, and setting up program spaces.
- Comfort engaging with students in supervisory roles, indoors and outdoors.
- Reliability, positive attitude, flexibility, and the desire to contribute to a welcoming team culture.

- Experience working with children is required.
