Job SummaryVFS Fire & Security Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities for our fire sprinkler and fire alarm projects. This role is vital in ensuring our field teams have the materials they need, when they need them, to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities- Source and purchase all parts and materials for fire sprinkler and fire alarm projects
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinate with sales and operations teams to understand project needs and timelines
- Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery to job sites or warehouse
- Maintain and update procurement records and inventory systems
- Resolve issues related to order discrepancies, returns, and backorders
- Assist in improving procurement processes and vendor relationships
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (fire protection industry preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software/ERP systems
- Knowledge of fire protection materials and terminology is a plus
Range: $30 - $38 USD per hour
Physical RequirementsThis role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Some roles may require travel.
