Fleet Operations & Maintenance Specialist

Johnson Service Group is looking for an experienced Fleet Operations & Maintenance Specialist for our client in San Jose.

• Scheduling and Operations
  • Schedule vehicles within a pool for use by multiple agency units for daily operations, meetings, training, and other business trips.
  • Plan and organize the best options for individual vehicle use on a day-to-day basis.
  • Check in vehicles after use to verify cleanliness, fuel level, and identify any damage that may have occurred and was not reported.
• Data Entry and Reporting
  • Input data into specialized fleet software programs, including Maximo (for work orders and records management) and Fuel Master (for fuel tracking).
  • Transfer data from software into Excel through uploads or manual entries to facilitate further analysis and reporting.
  • Pull various reports based on the collected data.
• Maintenance and Fuel Coordination
  • Create work orders for maintenance and repairs.
  • Communicate with the Senior Mechanic regarding vehicles that are down for maintenance or repair.
  • Pass along necessary information to the Senior Mechanic regarding accidents or road calls.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience performing functions related to fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling, coordination of pool vehicles, data entry and reporting in fleet or fuel management systems, and maintenance or repair coordination.
• Knowledge of general office equipment, including copier, phone, and laptop.
• Knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and internet use.
• Skills in creating data sheets in Excel using information extracted from other software such as Fuel Serve and Maximo.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and unit staff members and understand the needs and importance of each individual and how their duties contribute to the district.
• Ability to prioritize and schedule.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

This is a 6 month contract position pay rate $45.80/hr.
