SummaryThe Ash Group is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer for our client (a global technology distributor connecting leading manufacturers of electronic components and computing solutions). This is a 12-month Onsite contract role based in San Jose, CA
, offering a pay rate of $59.00 per hour. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of real-time embedded software, from initial board bring‑up to system optimization.
- Compensation: $59.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.
- Duration: 12-month contract.
- Location: San Jose, CA (100% Onsite).
- Design and develop high-performance, real-time embedded software, including RTOS (Real‑Time Operating Systems), hypervisors, and bootloaders.
- Execute Board Bring‑Up activities for customized ARM targets, ensuring hardware and software integration is seamless.
- Perform rigorous testing and debugging of developed software to ensure safety and stability.
- Support certification activities, potentially involving high‑integrity standards like DO-178
. - Troubleshoot microcontroller peripherals and common communication protocols to resolve complex system bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with customers to translate specific needs into technical software requirements and architecture.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation within an iterative Agile development process.
- Technical Mastery: Significant programming experience in C and professional experience with ARM architectures.

Proven ability in Board Bring‑Up
, working with Microcontroller peripherals, and RTOS development. - Troubleshooting: Expert analytical skills for debugging embedded systems and hardware subsystems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or related).
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of the DO-178 standard, Hypervisors, and IP protocols is a significant plus.
