PICO system prototyping team’s mission is to incubate the next generation XR products including MR headsets, AR glasses and more smart wearables. Based on Byte Dance group’s vision, the team independently comes up with product vision, roadmap, definition, architecture as well as initial designs including experience, structural, electrical, firmware as well as software. The startup style team has always been working on system-level missions that are tremendously commercially valuable yet seem technically impossible, therefore, we are also called the IMF.

• In the Product Incubation Team, designs, builds, and tests preliminary, high-fidelity, or low-fidelity software applications to validate AI and XR product concepts, front end and back end, early in the development lifecycle.
• Be part of frontier software prototyping efforts on mobiles, smart glasses, AR glasses, wearables, headsets and more. Applications include but are not limited to agentic AI on mobile and smart devices.
• Rapid software development and iteration on Android, RTOS, Web, iOS, MacOS, Watch
  
  OS, WearOS, Linux, for demonstrating and validating early product features, for example agentic AI, user interactions, Tik Tok et al.
• Work closely with product managers, software engineers and hardware engineers to deliver innovative user experience demos, conduct user studies, verify values, influence key features for future products.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $359720 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
