Senior Engineer, Firmware at Samsung Semiconductor
Location: San Jose, CA (Daily onsite presence at our U.S. headquarters)

What You’ll Do- Design and develop high‑performance firmware and software for cutting‑edge enterprise SSD products.
- Debug, optimize, and validate SSD firmware on complex embedded multi‑core architectures.
- Support customer qualification and adoption of SSD products.
- Participate in ground‑breaking advanced SSD storage development and research projects.
- BS in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years of silicon development experience; or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience; or PhD with 0+ years of storage firmware development.
- Strong programming proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, including algorithm development, data structure manipulation, and highly optimized code.
- Hands‑on experience in embedded software or firmware development for storage devices or other embedded platforms.
- Experience with one or more of the following storage technologies: NVM Express, PCI Express, SAS, SCSI, NAND Flash/FTL, Fibre Channel, SATA, eMMC, or UFS.
- Experience with ARM or equivalent embedded multi‑core microprocessor architectures.
- Hands‑on experience with JTAG/ICE debuggers and protocol analyzers.
- Some scripting experience in Python/Perl/JavaScript.
- Familiarity with modern agile software development methodologies.
- Self‑driven, proactive problem‑solver who can manage risks and deliver results with integrity.
