Software Engineer Frontend II (Full Time) - United States

Develops software consistent with Cisco ‘Design Thinking Principles’ with a focus on simplification and UX (User Experience) at its core, using secure coding practices, ensuring user privacy, and following software development best practices. Partners with other teams including design and product management to create the right solution for the customers. Creates technical design documentation to be used by the team as well as contributing to user documentation to be used by end users.

Debugs and addresses software issues during development and in production systems to support customers. Brings new ideas for product innovation and helps improve software development processes.

• Work with UI/UX designers, Product Managers, and customers to explore and brainstorm new Observability product features.
• Design new features and drive their requirements and implementation in frontend Type Script/React.js codebase.
• Participate in the design, implementation, maintenance, and evolution of web applications, web services, and APIs.
• Help improve engineering quality and operation excellence for the whole frontend systems.

• Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or relevant degree program (e.g., Associate's, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience) or Bachelor's + 0 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in JavaScript/Type Script for frontend development and familiarity in at least one backend language (Python, C++, or Java).
• Knowledge of UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) for full-stack pathways.
• Experience with API development (REST, Graph
  
  QL, or gRPC).
• Understanding of data structures, object-oriented programming, and SQL/No
  
  SQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Cisco Cloud).
• Prior experience in building web applications.
• Passionate about building elegant and powerful user interfaces to solve customer problems.
• Experience participating in technical designs for frontend systems.
• The ability to adapt quickly and can solve problems through uncertainty.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with engineers and non-engineers of various skill levels.
• Knowledge of web standards and modern browsers, responsive design, and of the full web technology stack.
