About Life Moves:
Life Moves is the largest and most effective provider of housing and services for neighbors experiencing homelessness in Silicon Valley since 1987. Our mission is to end homelessness by providing interim housing, supportive services, and building collaborative partnerships. With 40 programs, Life Moves offers a temporary place to call home while providing intensive, customized case management through site-based programs and community outreach.
Purpose
The Guadalupe Residential Service Coordinator plays an important role in keeping the site safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. Reporting to the Operations & Services Manager or Program Director, this position is often the first to respond to client needs, helping with both everyday requests and urgent situations. The role also supports volunteers, donors, and community visitors, ensuring everyone feels respected and informed.
This role requires strong attention to the safety and emotional well-being of clients, especially during times of stress or crisis. Staff use a calm and compassionate approach to help resolve problems and support stability, including helping clients work toward goals such as finding permanent housing.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Provide calm, supportive crisis response and connect clients to appropriate resources when needed
- Support daily operations by responding to needs and questions from clients, volunteers, donors, and visitors with radical hospitality, professionalism, and compassion
- Monitor site safety through rounds and by observing security cameras; report maintenance or pest control needs; assist with basic prevention and room preparations for professionals
- Manage facility meals, supplies, and donations, ensuring proper inventory and organized storage
- Coordinate welcomes, move-ins, completions, and move-outs with accurate documentation and smooth transitions; prepare spaces as needed
- Support team collaboration by creating reports and shift logs, participating in meetings, and engaging in continuous training
- Maintain ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, boundaries, and professionalism while fostering a supportive environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure effective program operations
- Fully participate in all required trainings by assigned deadlines and applying learnings to daily work
- Training expectations within the first 90 days include CPR, Mental Health/First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, HMIS and related trainings
- Additional trainings through Relias include trauma-informed care, homelessness, crisis management, boundaries, LGBTQIA+ inclusive care, privacy, child/elder abuse prevention, and related topics
