What You’ll Do- Promote Safety:
Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. - Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment:
Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime. - Inspect Equipment and Material:
Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors, and perform repairs when necessary. - Handle and Move Objects:
Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant. - Document and Record Information:
Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment; enter and maintain service reports in written or electronic form. - Operate Equipment:
Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant when necessary to ensure production continues efficiently. - Perform General Physical
Activities:
Perform activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. - Additional Responsibilities – Other duties as assigned.
- Industrial or construction welding.
- Experience with excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, and haul trucks.
- Familiarity with CAT, Empire, Vermeer, Volvo, Deere, Komatsu, and other similar manufacturers.
- Knowledge of best practices related to using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment; general knowledge of occupational hazards involved in welding.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
- Tier 4 Finals – on Heavy Equipment Standards.
- Troubleshooting.
- Understanding diagnostic and heavy equipment computer‑based troubleshooting.
- Engine.
- Hydraulics.
- Electronics.
Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands; able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Mechanical SkillsMust have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Salary and BenefitsThe salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates will be placed according to union contract salary scale at $52.73 per hour.
