Maintenance Technician II – Don De Dios Apartments (San Jose, CA) Job Summary
Full‑time Maintenance Technician II position located at Don De Dios Apartments, a 70‑unit affordable family housing community in San Jose, CA. These are Tax‑Credit properties. Candidates should have at least 1 year of related apartment maintenance experience, with plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills, and be willing to perform janitorial duties. Hourly rate $19.62–$31.62 (hiring range $19.62–$25.62, DOE).
Responsibilities- Replace or repair locks, weather stripping, doors, and windows.
- Perform interior repairs on walls and doors.
- Conduct electrical repairs – fixtures, lights, plugs, switches.
- Change AC filters, inspect coils, clean and repair HVAC components.
- Perform annual unit inspections.
- Ensure unit turnover within 5 days.
- At least 2 years of related apartment maintenance experience.
- Proficient in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license, clean DMV record, and reliable transportation.
- HVAC certification preferred.
Candidates receiving a conditional job offer must pass criminal background checks, verify education and employment history, and, if applicable, complete fingerprinting (and for household members over 18 living onsite). Drug testing within 72 hours of offer acceptance; no marijuana/cannabis testing.
