Job Description

As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Rounds in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail or mall location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible throughout the premises to help to deter security-related incidents.

This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the property and interact with guests and tenants, while delivering outstanding customer service and communication in line with our caring, people-first values.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at retail and mall locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft and/or property damage.
• Assist with emergency response activities as needed, including communicating with management and first responders.
• Document incidents and observations in detailed reports as required by Allied Universal and site management.
• Interact professionally with the public, tenants, and employees to address questions and provide assistance.
• Support access control procedures by verifying credentials and/or directing individuals as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
