Job Summary

This position is responsible for protecting property, assets and people. Duties and responsibilities include guarding, patrolling, monitoring premises to prevent theft, negative behaviors and answering phones.

Essential Functions

• Conduct foot patrol and general safety of the facility.
• Provide rest and meal break relief for other community guides between roving patrols.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service to clients, their visitors, vendors, and management at all times.
• Respond to reasonable business-related customer service requests.
• Respond to safety-related complaints and ensure proper documentation is completed as required.
• Maintain and submit Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, Accident Reports, Hazard Reports, and Condition Reports. Reports must be legible and routed to Executive Director
• Work under the general supervision of Executive Director
• Maintain consistent performance, attendance, uniform appearance, and professional demeanor.
• Communicate with all individuals in a professional manner.
• Respond to emergency calls including medical, fire and damage to property.
• Remain alert and vigilant while on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Appropriate Bureau of Security and Investigative Services certificate from the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
• California Guard License
• Preferred certification of a minimum of 40 hours of training in de‑escalation in facilities similar to the proposed facility.
• Certifications, Licenses, and other Special Requirements
• Certifications as required by state. Must meet all health requirements, including TB. Must pass criminal background check. Must have compassion for and desire to work in a mental health environment.
