As a Licensed Optician, you will deliver exceptional customer service, craft high‑quality eyewear and help establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations.
- Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Accurately use technology under time pressure, demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and use appropriate tools.
- Proactively explore root causes of issues, forward‑think and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Multi‑task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Take pride in store appearance and help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and pursue continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer service and retail experience.
Pay Range: $25,020 – $39,020 annually. In addition, you may be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first‑class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
