Overviewof Responsibilities
At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Produce Manager is responsible for the sales and operation of the Produce Department.
- Responsible for quality control, merchandising, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the produce department.
- Responsible for inventory management.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
- Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
- Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
- Take and document corrective actions as needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance (coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination).
- Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that delivers the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
To be a Produce Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, qualified candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years of age and have 1-3 years of experience working in a grocery retail setting with management experience in produce. A basic knowledge of math, weights and measures is required.
- Have good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Be able to perform standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the workday and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet, requiring up to 85 pounds of force for up to 5 hours.
- Maneuver six-wheel carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, up to 2 hours, up to 20 feet.
- Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.
- Achieve and maintain a Food Handler's permit.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward Team Members and customers.
The pay range for this position is $23.30 - $37.30 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
