Multi-Purpose Clerk – Grocery – 3002 Story Rd., San Jose, CA 95127

Join The Save Mart Companies as a Multi‑Purpose Clerk in our San Jose location. The role supports one or more store departments, including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial.

The Save Mart Companies operate 194 grocery stores across California and Western Nevada. We provide customers with quality products and community‑focused service.

• Assign to any of the following departments:
  Center Store/Front End, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, Janitorial.
• Operate check‑stand, manage inventory, and perform POS duties (Center Store).
• Receive, inspect, log, and merchandize products (all departments).
• Maintain clean, safe work area and store premises.
• Provide customer service, answer questions, and take special orders.
• Operate equipment such as slicers, ovens, forklifts, or balers when authorized.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Sweep and mop sales floor and other areas.
• Operate forklift or baler if authorized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with urgency, self‑motivation, initiative, enthusiasm, and flexibility.

High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or equivalent work experience.

Six months of related experience.

Must be available to work a variety of retail hours.

Requires standing, frequent physical movements, and lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
