The team is currently looking for an experienced Sous Chef!
Responsibilities- Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, including preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability.
- Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
- Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance, including supervision, counseling, evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work, and delivering recognition and reward.
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a sous chef in a restaurant or hotel environment.
- 5 years minimum professional cooking experience.
- Prior experience in banquet or large-scale cooking/catering.
- Familiarity and interest in modern cooking styles and techniques.
- Open availability and the ability to work a varied schedule.
- Previous experience managing within a union environment is a plus.
- Shift Pattern:
Varied; must have open availability to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. - Pay Rate:
The hourly wage for this role is $29.00 - $31.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
