Futurewei has an opening for photoelectric technology research internship. Candidate will help to conduct research, modeling, and/or prototyping design in the frontier research field of photoelectronic device and sensor technology. The intern will have the opportunity to work with and learn from leading experts and researchers to develop and explore new and impactful technologies.

Background Requirements
  • Semiconductor device modeling and simulation
  • New photoelectronic sensor technology with Perovskite, Organic, QD or 2D material
  • Smart sensing and applications
  • High precision analog front-end readout IC design
  • Biphotonic imaging research for new method of biomedical diagnosing
  • SPAD and TOF based depth sensing
  • Neuromorphic imaging – Event based image sensors
Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary research on selected technology topic
  • Model and analyze photonic and semiconductor imaging device
  • Investigate and simulate low power and high-performance IC for sensor readout
  • Help to study and identify key technology challenge points in related photoelectric sensor and applications.
  • Publish papers or patents
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering or Semiconductor Device Physics, Material Science or relative majors.
  • Solid semiconductor physics background or deep understanding on new material science for photoelectric applications.
  • Strong device physics and mathematics background and skills are preferrable.
  • Good master on advance analog IC (PGA, ADC etc.) for sensor readout and digitization is a plus
  • Candidate with strong background in Biophotonic research is highly favorable
  • Self-motivated detail-oriented team player.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Have track record of publishing scientific papers.
