The Opportunity That Awaits You

As we continue to grow and streamline our manufacturing operations, PROCEPT is seeking a motivated Supervisor, Quality Control to lead the QC team. This individual will focus on providing daily direction to the QC team, delivering on quality metrics, production metrics, keeping an engaged team, and collaborating with cross‑functional team members on QC‑related tasks/projects. The role requires leadership experience, the ability to mentor others, manage team performance, communicate expectations, be innovative, organized, and have attention to detail.

What

Your Day‑To‑Day Will Involve
  • Responsible for staff management and development including assigning and directing work, performance management, hiring, training, integrating, and retention.
  • Lead the Incoming Quality Inspection and foster an environment of ownership and collaboration.
  • Create, monitor, and report performance metrics for personnel, products, and processes.
  • Take initiative to drive efforts to continuously improve quality and costs using the principles of lean manufacturing and operational excellence: lean flow, takt time, standardization, kanban, 5S, cross‑training, etc.
  • Recognize and creatively solve problems (using root cause analysis) affecting QC including scheduling, staffing, quality, equipment, EH&S, facilities, and supply chain.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, for maximum efficiency.
  • Create and execute training plans for QC employees to ensure that the workforce is appropriately cross‑trained to minimize risk to Production.
  • Continuously learn and improve upon industry knowledge of quality systems and project management.
  • Ensure employee safety and compliance to applicable Federal, State and company safety regulations.
  • Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT Bio Robotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT Bio Robotics Quality and EHS policies.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in the medical device industry.
  • Working knowledge of operational quality systems including Receiving Inspection, Equipment Control, Control of Records and Control of Nonconforming Product.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks and quickly set direction for the QC team.
  • Previous experience coaching and developing QC personnel.
  • Experience with ISO 13485:2016, 21 CFR 820, MDSAP, and MDR.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques (caliper, micrometer, CMM).
  • Experience with QMS, PLM, & ERP Software.
  • Strong data analysis skills in Excel or Minitab (Pivot Tables, Pareto Charts, Functions).
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and collaborative leader in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly supervises employees in the Quality Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
