Position OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled full or part-time Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. Our DVM team and engaged support staff are passionate about teaching and mentorship; new graduates are encouraged to apply! Relief shifts are available as we search for the perfect fit for our team.
Burbank Pet Hospital
, located in San Jose, CA, is well equipped to practice quality medicine with a full in-house lab, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, dedicated dental suite, and more. - Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
- Client communication and education
- Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Pharmacy duties, including prescribing medication and following controlled substance protocols
- Promoting teamwork and staff efficiency
- Collaborating with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluating and monitoring protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
- Attending daily rounds to ensure the highest standards are upheld
- Participating in practice management updates and training at all levels
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration required and maintained
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent surgical and dental skills
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care
- Client communication skills, including establishing rapport and explaining treatment options
- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed or ill pets
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work as needed
- Clinical expertise in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other examinations
- Problem‑solving skills to address challenges in hospital management
- Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and internal staff
- Professionalism, including receiving and providing constructive feedback
- Business acumen related to hospital finances
- Ethical decision‑making rooted in patient care
- Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of learning for others
- Competitive salary: $130,000 – $150,000 (negotiable based on experience)
