Shift availability varies, including AM, PM, and NOC (overnight awake shift). The primary need is for overnight shift coverage/night shift. This is an on-call/as needed, non-benefited position. Hourly rate: $56.98 + 10% Differential.
Experience working with individuals with behavioral health conditions or addiction experience is preferred.
Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has six steps, from Step 1 (entry level) to Step 6 (15 years of employment). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 after one year. Current Step 1 rate: $56.98/hr;
Step 6 rate: $62.91/hr.
- Shift differential pay for certain shifts in our 24-hour programs:
- 6% additional for overnight (NOC) shift (11 pm - 7 am)
- 4.5% additional for evening shift (5:30 pm - 10:59 pm)
- 4.5% additional for weekend shifts (12:01 am Saturday - 11:59 pm Sunday)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate and assess clients for symptoms of illness, responses to treatment, behaviors, and physical condition.
- Provide treatment services, individually and in groups, within scope of practice. Administer First Aid and CPR as needed. Follow physician orders and protocols.
- Assist clients in seeking medical care. Supervise medication support systems and medical equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide medical coordination and leadership.
- Develop and implement staff and client education on medical issues.
- Participate in crisis intervention as part of the treatment team. Provide supervision of clients as required.
- Complete clinical records and documentation per agency, payor, and regulatory standards.
- Manage available resources to meet client needs.
- Ensure facilities are clean and well-maintained.
- Develop and assess systems for First Aid supplies and disaster plans.
- Attend staff, program, and agency meetings and training.
- Provide transportation using personal or agency vehicles, including client and supply transport.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program and at least two years of human service experience; a Bachelor's or Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- Current and valid registration as a Registered Nurse in California.
- First Aid Certification or successful completion within 30 days of hire if assigned to residential facilities.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, medications, community resources, emergency judgment, and cultural competence.
- Ability to write 5150 holds or obtain certification within six months.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicate effectively, support recovery, manage multiple tasks, and exercise good judgment in emergencies.
- Experience working with high-risk populations and those with complex needs.
- Knowledge of assessment criteria like ASAM and DMS, community resources, MHSA, and WRAP is preferred.
- Must meet criminal record clearance requirements.
- Proficiency in typing (min 40 wpm), basic computer skills, and familiarity with databases.
- Valid California Driver License, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and clean DMV record.
- Physical ability to perform essential functions, including lifting, moving, and emergency evacuation tasks.
