We are seeking a proactive and skilled Communications Manager to join our brand marketing team. The ideal candidate will develop and execute strategic Public Relations (PR) initiatives that enhance brand reputation, visibility, and media presence across both the US and Australian markets. This role requires expertise in media relations, content creation, executive communication, and crisis management, with an understanding of regional market dynamics, media landscapes, and cultural nuances.

This role is based in our San Jose office with an office-centric hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Media Relations:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers. Secure positive media coverage and handle inquiries.
  • Strategic Communications:
    Develop and execute PR campaigns aligned with business goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Crisis Management:
    Prepare and execute crisis communication plans to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Content Creation:
    Draft press releases, op-eds, speeches, and other external communications to elevate brand awareness.
  • Executive Communication Support:
    Provide media training, talking points, and support for public appearances.
  • Event Management:
    Plan and oversee press events, media briefings, product launches, and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Internal

    Collaboration:

    Work with marketing, investor relations, and internal communications teams to align messaging.
  • Monitoring & Reporting:
    Track media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Conduct daily competitor news scans and flag relevant coverage.
  • Build and maintain media lists, identifying new contacts and pitching proactive angles.
  • Support team discussions with research and media relations insights.
  • Assist in media outreach to trade and vertical press for news announcements.
  • Review industry trends and flag relevant speaking and award opportunities.
  • Execute media relations, including proactive pitching and media database management.
  • Contribute to content development, including press releases, social copy, and bylines.
  • Support execution of speaking engagements, awards programs, and industry event participation.
  • Develop and showcase industry knowledge by producing accurate, impactful work.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure messaging alignment with corporate strategy and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee crisis communication planning, ensuring swift and strategic action.
  • Manage external agency relationships, driving accountability and results.
  • Provide communication support for key stakeholders, including media training and messaging preparation with a global perspective.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Proven expertise in media relations, crisis management, and brand positioning.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working with PR agencies and managing external partnerships.
  • Familiarity with digital PR strategies, social media engagement, and online reputation management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive communication needs effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
