Material Handler

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.

Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production. This job may be known as shipping, receiving, pick-packs, or stores clerks.

• Routinely ensure that materials from receiving inspection are correctly identified and put away into appropriate stockroom locations and transactions completed.
• Perform shortage fill to work orders during put-away procedures.
• Ensure that all FIFO procedures are complied with when materials are received into the stockroom.
• Pull parts from stock to work orders on a daily basis at the direction of the kit-pull coordinator.
• Perform daily cycle count tasks at the direction of the inventory coordinator (goal 100%).
• Provide stockroom window service as well as cage or tape & reel issue at the direction of the stockroom Leader or supervisor.
• Conduct the above assigned responsibilities in a manner that maintains the stockroom in a neat and orderly condition.
• Be trained initially in the use of the Oracle data entry system for processing simple transactions and researching problems encountered during put-away and pull kits. Regular pallet jack use with eventual forklift certification.

• A minimum of two years stockroom or related experience.
• Strong math skills, ability to identify various electronic components, working knowledge of SMT components, and a team player with punctual attendance and flexible work hours.
• Forklift certification is required eventually.
