About the Regional Wastewater FacilityThe San José–Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) treats water from residents and businesses in San José, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and surrounding areas. It serves a population of over 1.4 million people and processes up to 167 million gallons per day.
Position DutiesThe Wastewater Operations Superintendent I/II performs work of moderate difficulty by providing administrative support to the Division Manager in planning, organizing, supervising, and managing the day‑to‑day activities of the Operations section of the Regional Wastewater Facility, or acts as liaison for Capital Improvement Project (CIP) initiatives. The position may serve as the Designated Operator‑in‑Charge in the absence of the Division Manager and requires availability 24 hours/day.

- One (1) year at a level equivalent to Wastewater Operations Foreperson I/II with demonstrated knowledge in at least five operational process areas, including Computer Room Operations, at the RWF or an equivalent facility.
- Valid SWRCB Grade IV Certificate and a valid California driver’s license.
- Wastewater Operations Superintendent II
- Two (2) years at a level equivalent to Wastewater Operations Foreperson I/II with demonstrated knowledge in at least six operational process areas, including Computer Room Operations, at the RWF or an equivalent facility.
- Valid SWRCB Grade V Certificate and a valid California driver’s license.
- Demonstrated job expertise in the operations of the Regional Wastewater Facility.
