Senior Living Maintenance Assistant. Are you passionate about working with seniors? Novelle is currently accepting applications for Maintenance Assistant to help support residents within our community who call it home.

- Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, HVAC, landscape, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair.
- Understand and have knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Ensure that walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained and repaired.
- Have basic prep and painting abilities.
- Repair and maintain vacated rooms in a timely manner, including painting walls and cleaning carpets.
- Be responsible for all in-house plumbing (sinks, toilets, bathtubs).
- Perform minor electrical work within units and in common areas (e.g., light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals).
- Paint all apartments and common areas as needed.
- Repair, clean and maintain carpet, floor coverings and furniture.
- Complete all work orders in a timely manner and note any other work completed at the location but not listed on the work order.
- Document safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and cleaning of community vehicles (buses and cars) and assist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. (Must be at least 18 years of age.)
- 1-3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating and HVAC skills.
- Prefer knowledge of fire suppression and irrigation systems.
- Prefer motor vehicle maintenance ability.
- Flexible and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 90 lbs, pushing/pulling, and other physical activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
