The Role
The Maintenance Technician I is primarily responsible for the maintenance functions of a supportive housing facility. Duties include working with the janitorial team for unit turnovers, performing daily repairs, and carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance in a fast‑paced environment.

- Provide after‑hour emergency service during on‑call rotation.

- Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure safe and compliant work.
- Complete paperwork and follow through on work orders.
- Maintain inventory of department items.
- Inspect units for housing quality standards.
- Update management software and report on work progress.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in unit turnover or residential maintenance.
- Valid California driver’s license, clean DMV record, and current auto insurance required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Independent and collaborative team player; able to work under direction of facility staff.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, door frames, locks, and cabinetry.
- Experience troubleshooting appliance and minor electrical issues.
- Familiarity with quality control, health, and safety regulations for repairs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with a cultural humility mindset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, business applications, and mobile devices.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Manual dexterity for tools, controls, and repetitive motions.
- Stand or sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer.
- Drive and sit in a car for extended periods.
- Move between floors, ascend/descend stairs, and navigate all property areas.
- Use cleaning equipment such as mop, broom, vacuum, and carpet machinery.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Navigate rough terrain and maintain safety while moving around the property.
