Position: SENIOR IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Immigration Attorney to join a fast-growing law firm specializing in immigration law. This role involves managing a variety of immigration cases, both for detained and non-detained individuals, providing legal representation in court, and guiding clients through complex immigration processes. The ideal candidate is passionate about client advocacy, experienced in immigration law, and capable of handling a demanding caseload.

Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel and explain immigration concepts to clients.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including removal defense and family-based immigration cases.
  • Conduct client intakes, particularly with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications and legal briefs.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law updates.
  • Lead client consultations to develop case strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.
  • Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.
  • Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of California.
  • Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
