Our Client, a distinguished multi-service law firm, is seeking a Senior
Trust & Estate
Litigation
Attorney to join our Trust & Estate Litigation group.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Trusts and Estates litigation and a demonstrated interest in providing advice and counsel to clients with a broad spectrum of Trusts and Estates issues. Additionally, the candidate should bring at least a partial book of portable business.
Requirements- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Trust & Estate litigation
- Strong analytical, negotiation, consulting, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent reputation for integrity and collegiality among both bench and bar
- Represent senior citizens and their families in financial elder abuse litigation.
- Represent trustees, executors, administrators and beneficiaries in trust and probate litigation, including:
- Contests based upon lack of capacity, undue influence, or fraud;
- Negligent management of assets;
- Failure to account, or Inadequate accounting;
- Co‑trustee disputes;
- Removal and surcharge actions;
- Breach of fiduciary duty (lack of impartiality, self‑dealing & secret profits)
- Supervise and mentor associates
The ideal applicant will have an established practice (or desire to build a practice) in the South Bay or East Bay; however the position can be based in any of our offices:
Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose), Tri‑Valley (Pleasanton), or Peninsula (San Mateo). Travel between locations may be necessary.
Compensation packages for senior attorneys are negotiated depending on their expected production. Pay scale is defined to include the range of base pay (estimated to be $200,000 – $275,000/yr) and may include incentive compensation ranging from 10% - 20% of fees paid.
