Job Overview:We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate the physical hardware layer powering a large-scale private cloud environment. This role focuses on day-2 operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of compute, storage, and networking hardware across production datacenters.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain datacenter hardware infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking systems
- Perform day-2 operations such as hardware installation, break/fix, firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Manage capacity planning, hardware expansion, refresh cycles, and decommissioning
- Troubleshoot complex issues across servers, storage systems, disk subsystems, and network connectivity
- Manage BIOS, firmware, and hardware management controllers (iDRAC, iLO, Redfish)
- Collaborate with SRE, networking, platform, and security teams during incidents and maintenance
- Automate infrastructure operations using Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to operational maturity of the platform
Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in datacenter or infrastructure engineering
- Strong knowledge of x86 server architecture, CPU topology, memory, NUMA, and I/O subsystems
- Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems and datacenter networking (L2/L3, VLANs)
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and systems operations skills
- Experience with hardware lifecycle management, capacity planning, and vendor coordination
