Domain Specialist

Overview

Payment Domain Specialist (Business+Data) – Ensure the business semantics of payments—not just data structures—are preserved across the migration. This role bridges business logic, data integrity, and compliance.

• Domain Semantics: Define authoritative meanings for Authorizations, Captures, Settlements, Reversals, Refunds, and Chargebacks; clarify lifecycle state machines and in variants.
• Data Contract Definition: Define payment-specific CRUD contracts, query expectations, reconciliation in variants, and validate idempotency requirements.
• Edge Case Validation: Identify high-risk scenarios (partial failures, duplicate messages, retries, reconciliation mismatches) and validate that the new model supports these cases.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure auditability requirements are preserved: immutable records, traceability, reconciliation accuracy.
• Testing & Certification: Participate in contract testing and workload replay validation; sign off on domain readiness.

• 8–12+ years in payments domain (issuer, acquirer, processor, fintech).
• Deep understanding of payment flows.
• Deep understanding of financial reconciliation.
• Idempotency and retry semantics.
• Experience working with engineers and architects.
• Strong data literacy (tables, joins, event flows).

• Payment domain data contracts.
• Lifecycle state diagrams.
• Reconciliation rules.
• Edge case test scenarios.
• Domain readiness certification.

Salary Range: $120,000-$130,000 per year
