We are seeking a highly motivated and talented app and software development engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in computer science and data structures. This role requires an understanding on how to use large data systems to develop user dashboards and applications for monitoring and assessment. This role engages with manufacturing and customer facing roles to understand reporting needs, then engages with the data owners to create the necessary information structures for reporting.
DetailedDescription
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for understanding the required information reporting layout. The definitions for each information display must be defined from a user or data consumer perspective.
- Collaborate with development, production, service and customer teams to develop defined requirements.
- Engage with the corporate IT team to understand data sources, structures and protocol needed to establish automated access
- Collaborate with the technical teams responsible for data generation and storage to ensure proper data use and application
- Develop automated reports and dashboards which will be used to monitor performance, drive corrective action and report improvement
- Establish user feedback methods to evaluate report effectiveness and to drive continuous improvement
- Ability to understand data structures, automated reporting methods and data security
- Ability to develop automated reports and applications
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Programming
Languages:
Python, JavaScript, SQL - Data Visualization Tools:
Tableau, Power BI, or similar - Cloud Platforms:
Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus

- Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technologies to enhance process capabilities.
- Engage as necessary with internal and external customers, addressing concerns and presenting solutions.
- Conduct technical reviews, process demonstrations, and progress presentations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and senior leaders
- Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
- Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines
- Three to six years of relevant experience in software or data application development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
