The OpportunityAs a Data Scientist on the Experience & Engagement (XE) Home Data Science team, you will help build delightful experiences that drive customer success and tangible business growth. We value statistical, analytical, and machine learning techniques to transform large volumes of data into actionable insights.
What You'll Do- Collaborate with product, engineering, and design partners to analyze user engagement on our Home surfaces (web and desktop).
- Conduct sound statistical analysis of Home surfaces to recognize patterns that lead to actionable insights and identify gaps in data collection.
- Interpret results and simplify them for partners using a wide range of visualization and storytelling techniques.
- Specialize in stitching and calibrating sparse and noisy semi‑structured or unstructured data across various data sources.
- Partner with experts across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to understand customer behavior, identify pain points, and make recommendations to improve product and customer experience.
- Master’s or PhD (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with practical experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.
- Experience with hypothesis or A/B test analysis.
- Hands‑on experience working with large data sets, including a big data platform such as Databricks, Apache Spark, or Hadoop.
- Expertise in at least one programming or data manipulation language, preferably Python and SQL.
- Data storytelling skills and excellent oral and written communication.
The U.S. pay range for this position is $109,000 – $200,700 annually. Pay varies by work location and can also depend on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the range is $138,600 – $200,700.
