Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in Hadoop infrastructure implementation and administration
  • Experience in project lifecycle activities for development and maintenance projects
  • Operational troubleshooting skills, understanding system capacity, bottlenecks, memory, CPU, OS, storage, and networks
  • Knowledge of Hadoop components:
    Map Reduce, HBase, Hive, Pig, Mahout
  • Hadoop administration skills: experience with Cloudera Manager or Ambari, Ganglia, Nagios
  • Experience with Hadoop schedulers: FIFO, Fair Scheduler, Capacity Scheduler
  • Experience with job scheduling tools like Oozie or enterprise schedulers such as Control-M, Tivoli
  • Good Linux knowledge
  • Experience setting up authentication models like Ad/LDAP/Kerberos
  • Familiarity with open source configuration management tools:
    Puppet, Chef;
    Linux scripting, Autosys
  • Scripting experience:
    Shell, Perl, Python
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting core Java applications is a plus
  • Exposure to real-time execution engines:
    Spark, Storm, Kafka
  • Version control tools:
    Subversion, Clearcase, CVS, Git Hub
  • Experience with service management ticketing tools:
    Service Now, Service Manager, Remedy
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution; three years of progressive experience can substitute for each year of education
  • Minimum 4 years of overall IT experience
