Roles & Responsibilities Evaluate and assess patient functional mobility and rehabilitation needs with evidence-based clinical reasoning
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve function
Deliver hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions with clear goals and measurable outcomes
Document clinical progress accurately and timely in the patient record and communicate updates to the care team
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and facility staff to coordinate safe, effective patient care in the correctional setting
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safe mobility strategies
Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and follow facility security and compliance protocols
Qualifications Active Physical Therapist license in California (required)
Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
Comfort working within a correctional facility and able to pass required background checks/clearances
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills; prior experience in inpatient, outpatient, or correctional settings preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Education Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
Master's or Bachelor's in Physical Therapy or related field accepted with appropriate licensure
Knowledge & Skills Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription, manual therapy, gait training, and mobility aids
Solid clinical reasoning and outcome-driven treatment planning
Proficient in concise, accurate clinical documentation
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and follow facility safety protocols
Adaptability and calm under pressure in a secure environment
