Gurnick Academy is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.
We are currently seeking a Occupational Therapy Program Faculty for Gurnick Academy. This is a ground position working at the Gurnick Academy San Jose, CA Campus
Job Type: Full-time – Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000
Basic FunctionThe faculty member of the Master’s in Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is an Occupational Therapist with a doctoral degree who holds a faculty (academic and clinical) appointment and has academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. This is a full-time 12-Month position. This individual demonstrates competence in any clinical OT area, clinical education, teaching, and curriculum development.
We are looking for a faculty member who collaborates with clinical and academic partners within and outside the OT programs on campus, mentors and advises students, participates in the admission process, and performs programmatic and college service as needed.
- Teaching in both MOT and OTA programs, in the area of expertise
- Developing and evaluating academic curriculum
- Instructing clinical laboratories
- Participating with students in scholarly activities
- Full-time core faculty teaching in the MOT and OTA programs must hold a doctoral degree
- awarded by a USDE-recognized accrediting body. The doctoral degree is not limited to
- occupational therapy.
- Licensed/registered/certified or eligible for licensure/registration/certification as an OTR
- in California
- Minimum 5-year experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in
- an Occupational Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy program
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in the area (s) of teaching
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in a variety of areas of teaching (academic, clinical, continuing education, in-
- service)
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Experience in online synchronous education is a plus
