Residential Services Coordinator

Life Moves

San Jose, CA – $5,083.00 – $7,228.00 (Full time, entry level)

Responsibilities
  • Provide calm, supportive crisis response and connect clients to appropriate resources when needed.
  • Support daily operations by responding to needs and questions from clients, volunteers, donors, and visitors with radical hospitality, professionalism, and compassion.
  • Monitor site safety through regular rounds, reviewing security cameras, reporting maintenance or pest control needs, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Manage facility meals, supplies, and donations, ensuring proper inventory and organized storage.
  • Conduct welcomes, move‑ins, completions, and move‑outs; ensure accurate documentation and smooth transition tasks such as cleaning rooms and preparing spaces.
  • Support team collaboration by creating reports and shift logs, participating in meetings, and engaging in continuous training.
  • Maintain high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, boundaries, and professionalism while fostering a supportive environment for all.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure effective program operations.
  • Fully participate in all required trainings, completing them on time, engaging in sessions, and applying learnings to daily work.
Training Expectations (First 90 days)
  • CPR, Mental Health/First Aide (MHFA), Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, HMIS and internal database training.
  • Online Learning Management System:

Qualifications
  • Willingness and ability to work with people from all backgrounds with care, respect, and empathy; commitment to DEIB practices and radical hospitality.
  • Emotional Regulation:
    Manages stress and emotions professionally and calmly under pressure, with de‑escalation techniques.
  • Growth Mindset:
    Open to feedback, asks questions, shows curiosity and motivation to learn trauma‑informed care, crisis support, and harm reduction practices.
  • Team & Independence:
    Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team, follows directions, communicates clearly, and seeks help when needed.
  • Documentation:
    Maintains clear, unbiased, and professional documentation and communication.
  • Organization & Prioritization:
    Demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and engagement with clients and partners.
  • Technology:
    Comfortable using basic technology (phone, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases).
Physical Demands

Regularly required to talk, hear, and communicate with internal and external individuals; frequently use hands and fingers; stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
