- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Position Overview
The Medical Assistant (MA) works closely with Providers and the primary or specialty care team to deliver high‑quality patient care and exceptional customer service. This role supports patient flow and clinical operations within outpatient Primary Care clinic locations in San Jose. The MA will perform both clinical and administrative duties to meet patient, provider, and clinic needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Take and record vital signs; perform patient intake and rooming
- Assist Providers during exams and minor procedures
- Perform ECGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, injections, and point‑of‑care testing
- Obtain patient histories and document accurately in the EHR
- Apply sterile techniques and manage clinical supplies
- Provide patients with exam preparation instructions and health education
Administrative & Front Office Duties
- Perform patient registration, insurance verification, check‑in, and check‑out
- Prepare and pre‑review patient charts prior to appointments
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
- Answer phone calls and route patient inquiries appropriately
- Process medication refill requests as directed by Providers
- Prepare forms and documentation for provider review
- Maintain medical records, immunization logs, and health registries
General Duties
- Resolve minor patient concerns and escalate clinical issues when appropriate
- Maintain consistent attendance and provide excellent customer service
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Complete additional assignments as needed to support clinic operations
Education & Certification
- National Medical Assistant Certification required (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, or CCBMA)
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of directly related Medical Assistant experience
Health Requirements
- Current Health Certificate including:
- MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (or titer proof)
- Annual TB testing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of clinical terminology and normal vital sign ranges
- Proficiency with EHR systems (EPIC experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced outpatient environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Language Requirements
- Fluent verbal and written English required
- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese preferred

Pay Details: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
