Healing Grove San Jose is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to support clinical and administrative operations in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant will perform duties within the scope of practice permitted under California law, under the direction of a licensed provider, while contributing to a patient-centered care environment.

• Obtain and document patient vital signs
• Perform venipuncture and prepare laboratory specimens
• Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., EKGs, urinalysis dipstick, other CLIA-waived tests)
• Assist licensed providers with minor in-office procedures
• Administer vaccines and injections under provider order and supervision, in accordance with California regulations
• Monitor, document, and maintain VFC vaccine storage temperatures, including required temperature logging and reporting
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies and equipment
• Answer incoming phone calls, check in patients, and assist with front office duties as needed
• Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards

• Medical Assistant certification
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and point-of-care testing
• Full Spanish and English fluency both written and verbal
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a team environment
