The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work across multiple (2‑3) Rocketship school sites under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist(s) serving those school sites and report to the Associate Director of Occupational Therapy. Rocketship’s Occupational Therapy Assistants are responsible for providing both direct and indirect support to students, families, and staff members in order to ensure high‑quality programming for students, particularly those with disabilities.
Under the supervision of Rocketship’s Occupational Therapist(s), the Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for implementing intervention plans and goals, providing support and guidance to students in areas such as fine motor skills, self‑care, sensory processing, and self‑regulation to support their development of skills related to daily living, academic achievement, and social participation.
This role is based across our East Bay (Concord and Antioch) and Redwood City campuses and requires regular, in‑person presence at school sites.
Essential Functions- Assisting the occupational therapist in the evaluation and assessment of students’ occupational therapy needs
- Implementing intervention plans and goals, as prescribed by the occupational therapist
- Providing one‑on‑one or small group therapy sessions to students as needed
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support the integration of therapy goals into the student’s daily routine and academic activities
- Providing guidance and support to students in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self‑regulation, and other areas as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress and intervention plans
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up‑to‑date on best practices in occupational therapy
- Managing a detailed log of service provided and services missed due to student absence, school closure, or therapist absence
Completing intervention session notes and contributing to progress reports in a timely manner according to school policy - Assist in the implementation of evaluation/IEP/504 recommendations, as needed
- Maintaining a compliant practice and documentation
- Performing other duties as assigned or requested by the appropriate administrator
- Must possess an occupational therapy assistant degree from an ACOTE‑accredited program and have a valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with individuals with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural disorders, autism, etc.) (1 year minimum)

- Perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks: maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and compliance deadlines.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license: willingness to provide own transportation in conduct of work assignments as you will be required to travel from site to site to work with students and faculty at all sites
