Participants and their counselors work collaboratively to design an integrated, individualized, strengths-based treatment experience geared towards addressing each client’s specific needs and goals. Outpatient programs provide Individual and group therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, crisis intervention, and connection to social support services.

Asian American Recovery Services (AARS) is looking for a committed, client-centered, full-time Clinical Therapist who is passionate about serving youth whose mental health needs range from mild- moderate to severely mentally ill in an outpatient setting. Facilitates intakes, comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment planning, crisis, case management and individual counseling sessions with clients.

The Clinical Therapist provides mental health individual and group therapy based on individualized assessments. Be responsive and pro‑active in all correspondences with referring parties such as behavioral health providers, probation, social workers, and the Quality Improvement Dept. via client status reports, phone calls, faxes, etc. Intensity of services is based on the client’s stage of change and response to treatment. Performs crisis intervention, works with treatment team to stabilize crisis situations, provide case management services and to provide other ancillary resources for clients.

Clinical Therapist provides after‑hours crisis line support on a rotating basis.

BBS supervision is available!

Hours of operation are Mondays and Fridays from 9:00AM to 6:00pm;
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00AM to 8:00PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual Treatment Responsibilities

  • Facilitates intakes, comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment planning, crisis, case management and individual counseling sessions with clients.
  • Provides learning experience opportunities and offers clinical support to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals.
  • Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status.

Treatment Setting Responsibilities

  • Facilitates group counseling and education sessions as appropriate.
  • May conduct community outreach and education workshops.
  • Performs crisis intervention, works with treatment team to stabilize crisis situations and collaborates with Case Manager on ancillary resources for clients.
  • Attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events.
  • May be asked to work on a weekend or during after-hours for crisis stabilization, community education, resource fairs, and special events.

Documentation Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client.
  • Properly document all individual and group counseling sessions, attempts to contact, and complete the discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in timely manner.
