Accounting Manager

Job Overview

Gotion is looking for an Accounting Manager to build and lead a high performing corporate accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and internal control, with the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income and cashflow statements. This candidate will feel comfortable using insights they have discovered to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership.

• Oversee consolidation and inter-company elimination entries monthly
• Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for the current team, while conducting performance evaluations
• Plan and implement policies and procedures that align with the company’s financial strategy
• Manage the company’s financial, payables, cash receipts, and assets
• Oversee technical accounting such as ASC 606 and ASC 842
• Lead the company’s annual financial audit
• Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
• Ensure compliance at various levels (local, state, and federal)
• Review and approve monthly account reconciliations
• Own month and year-end close processes, delivering results on time with high accuracy
• Review financial results versus budget and prior periods, identifying trends and concerns
• Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, update of rolling 3-month cash forecast
• Oversee filing and/or support of the filing of sales/use, and personal property tax returns
• Work closely with outside CPA firm regarding preparation of corporate income tax returns and review the tax provisions
• Additional tasks as requested

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or Finance; CPA highly desired
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong knowledge of general ledger and consolidations accounting; 2+ years as a people manager
• Big 4 (3+ years) and private industry experience (3+ years) are strongly desired
• Ability to analyze, prioritize, and execute in a high-pressure environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookup, Sumif, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports
• Must possess a positive attitude and ability to adapt to changes in workload and job requirements
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills needed to develop collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and 842 is a must
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is required due to the job’s responsibilities, which include supporting and communicating with Mandarin-speaking customers

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career  base pay range for this role is shown below, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, experiences, and location.

Expected Pay Range

$140,000 - $180,000 USD, plus eligibility for bonuses and benefits.
