** Position Overview
** The R&D Financial Specialist will support
** R&D expense*
* ** management, financial planning, forecasting, and analysis
** for Altera’s semiconductor business. This role partners with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product Management—to provide insights that influence strategic decisions and optimize financial performance.### ###
** Key Responsibilities**
* ** R&D Ownership & Reporting**  + Consolidate and report short- and long-term R&D results.  + Analyze revenue, cost structure, margins, and profitability trends.  + Support quarterly and annual financial close processes ensuring accuracy.
* ** Forecasting & Budgeting**  + Develop financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and operating expenses.  + Assist in annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.  + Identify key business drivers impacting financial performance.
* ** Business Performance Analysis**  + Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. forecast) and provide actionable recommendations.  + Support pricing strategies, product profitability analysis, and investment decisions.
* ** Cross-Functional Collaboration**  + Partner with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Product teams to align financial goals with business strategies.  + Provide financial insights for executive decision-making and strategic initiatives.
** Salary Range
** The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.$113.7K - $164.7K USDWe use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position.### ##

* Qualifications:

**** Qualifications
* ** Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
* 3+ years of experience in FP&A, P&L management, or corporate finance—preferably in semiconductor or technology industry.
* Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Proficiency in financial tools such as
** Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, and advanced Excel**.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do perspective.### ##
