Position SummaryNext Flex is looking for a hands-on hardware design engineer to join the Systems Design team. In this role, you will design, prototype, and test the next generation of additively manufactured flexible hybrid electronic solutions. You will own advanced projects and participate in all phases of system design and test. You will work closely with experts in system integration, firmware, software, testing, and process across industries from medical devices to consumer electronics.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Design, develop and test electrical devices on systems with advanced additive manufacturing techniques.
- Schematic capture and layout; create footprint elements in parts libraries.
- Communicate and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
- Assist and participate in the development of embedded C/C++ software.
- B.S. with 3 years of experience or MSEE with 1 year experience or Ph.D. graduate.
- Experience designing PCBs for size, weight, and power constrained applications.
- Experience with all phases of PCB design: part selection, schematic creation, constraint setting, library management, board layout, and manufacturing document creation.
- Experience with PCB ECAD tools.
- Experience with wireless systems such as BLE, WIFI, UWB, NFC.
- Strong EE fundamentals and HW debugging skills with lab equipment.
- Proficiency with Siemens EDA Xpedition Schematic and Layout tools.
- Proficiency with Hyper Lynx SI/PI, Hyper Lynx Full Wave Solver, or HFSS.
- Experience designing for low-power systems with multiple mixed signal ICs, power management devices, wired/wireless charging, and sensors.
- Experience with layout for low noise applications/high-noise environments.
- Experience designing Flex devices or non-planar electronics.
- Experience with SPI, UART, USART, I2C, USB.
- Experience with designing electrical devices for medical systems.
- Experience with firmware development in C or C++ for embedded systems.
