NOC Engineer

NOC Engineers are a tier 2 support team within the NOC team. Along with all the duties of a NOC Agent, NOC Engineers will be responsible for taking on the more technical cases that are outside of the NOC Agents ability and working the issue to resolution or proper handoff to next tier of operational support. NOC Engineering team is asked to create training material for NOC Agents to review, help develop technical operational procedures for supported technologies and hardware, and support NOC Agents when identified as needing additional operational learning and other opportunities for work requirements as needs of the business may require.

Entry-level NOC Engineers are typically required to have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in network support and administration. Experience can often be obtained through internships, part-time roles or even related IT positions.

NOC Engineer candidates should have prior experience in network troubleshooting, system administration, IT support or a related field. Strong technical knowledge of the customers, technology, hardware, configurations and designs supported by Configure.

Strong foundation in networking principles and technologies, including knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching and the TCP/IP protocols.

Should have familiarity with network monitoring and management tools and have experience managing incidents and troubleshooting network problems.

Be adapted to managing complex network issues and may have some supervisory experience.
