Overview

The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of newly manufactured optical systems and subsystems on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe work practices including electrical safety, safe lifting techniques, and maintaining a clean, safe work area
  • Integrate, setup, and test complex optical and electro-mechanical subsystems into higher level systems or process modules
  • Perform mechanical and software installations, and execute precision set-ups and adjustments following work instructions
  • Diagnose and repair system performance issues using high precision electrical, optical and mechanical test equipment
  • Leads system disassembly to prepare systems for shipment to customers
  • Leads troubleshooting and testing of build discrepancies to resolve system issues. Work with Manufacturing Engineering on complex issues.
  • Work with Development Engineering as required resolving diverse & complex issues found during Final Test
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Test Technicians to resolve and close standard and non-standard issues
  • Manage all manufacturing test data associated with source acceptance testing of a process module
  • Compile statistical reports for each system during Final Test
  • Develop Continuous Improvement Projects. Identify and provide improvements of test methods for existing products and collaborate with Engineering to develop methodologies for new products/components
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Qualifications

BS degree in a technical field and 5 years applicable experience of hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting complex systems. AP/LSA experience a plus. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of hardware, software and control systems
  • Knowledge of semiconductor and/or manufacturing processes is preferred
  • Good knowledge of MS Word and EXCEL and able to understand and apply statistical data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with technicians, engineering, management, sales and marketing
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required to meet company revenue requirements
  • Military experience is a plus

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Needs to be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing
  • Must be able to use standard hand tools and standard office equipment
Salary and Benefits

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $51.89 – $65.73, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job‑related factors when determining your pay.
