The Music Place and its sister non-profit Arts Educators Group serves at four locations across San Jose and Sunnyvale. We are a creative, rewarding, and supportive team that uses music and dance to enrich the lives of students of all abilities and disabilities.

We’re currently seeking a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) who loves working with children and thrives in a dynamic environment that combines both music therapy and private/group music instruction for neurotypical students. New MT-BCs welcome, training and mentorship is provided!

• Establish music therapy treatment goals following assessment process
• Design and lead music-based interventions that support growth in communication, motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills
• Collaborate with families to align goals with the client’s values and interests
• Provide music lessons to neurotypical students, either one-on-one or in group settings
• Work closely with a team of six passionate music therapists in a supportive and mission-driven setting

• MT-BC credential (required)
• Bachelor’s degree or Post-Equivalency degree in music therapy
• Experience working with children
• Strong musical skills on guitar, piano, and voice

• This role offers a competitive pay range of $40–$60 per hour for direct services (therapy and teaching) and $18 per hour for indirect time (documentation, planning, meetings, etc.).
• The position will most likely begin as part-time with the potential to grow into full-time based on your availability and client needs.
• Saturday availability is required, as it’s one of our highest-need days.
